Call for cocooners’ times at woods

-

DURING the May meeting of Gorey-Kilmuckridge Municipal District, Councillor Andrew Bolger suggested that two hours a day be set aside as a designated time for vulnerable people and over 70s to enjoy the Ramsfort Park Woods exclusively.

‘You’d be relying on peoples’ good nature to enforce it but it would be beneficial to put vulnerable people at ease. Everyone will have to use their social conscience,’ he said.

District Manager Michael Drea said that the timing has to be right for this to work as it is difficult to enforce.

‘Cocooners tend to be more flexible in their time frame. We have to balance it between workers who might want to get out for exercise’.

The Municipal District has now designated 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in order to ensure physical distancing for the most vulnerable and asks that users of Ramsfort Woods observe this request from Thursday, May 28.
