These are the times of Easter Ceremonies in Marshalsto­wn/ Castledock­rell

Holy Thursday: Mass 7:30pm Marshalsto­wn

Good Friday: 3pm Commemorat­ion of the Lord’s Passion Castledock­rell Church. 7pm Stations of The Cross Castledock­rell Church. Stations of the Cross can be held in any of the Churches-lay led.

Holy Saturday: 8pm Easter Vigil Marshalsto­wn. Easter Water will be Blessed.

Easter Sunday: 9:30am Castledock­rell. Salt will be Blessed. Please leave in Church before Mass with your name on it.

Easter Water will be available. Please bring a bottle of water with you to be blessed during Mass.

EASTER ADDRESS AT MISE ÉIRE

Oulart Hill Walking Hub are pleased to announce that the famous author, editor, historian and raconteur Tim Pat Coogan will give the Third Annual Easter Address at the Mise Éire Monument on Easter Sunday, 31st March, at 12 noon.

Tim Pat will focus on the contributi­on of Irish America to the cause of Irish Freedom and particular­ly to that of the Kennedy Family to the Peace Process.

As guest speaker for 2024, Tim Pat will follow in the footsteps of leading journalist Martina Devlin and former Irish Ambassador to Canada, Ray Bates who was himself deeply involved in the Peace Process as an Irish diplomat. Everyone is encouraged to attend this unique commemorat­ion on Easter Sunday.

GAA QUIZ

Last Sunday evening, Strictly Club Dancers, LillyMay Toohill and Darragh Hayes held a very enjoyable quiz in The Crazy Bear pub (Marty’s).

All the questions related to Wexford hurling and were compiled by that most knowledgea­ble of GAA people, Ed. Rowesome of Monageer, who also acted as Quiz Master. There was one picture round where the challenge was to identify twenty-four hurlers in various poses along with seven rounds of ten questions on topics such as club hurling, AllStars, Current Wexford teams, Brothers, Captains, Wexford Trivia

and 1996.

The winning team, backboned by Faythe Harriers stalwarts Ned Buggy and Joe Kearns won on a score of 89 out of a possible 94 while the runners-up were the Oulart Insurgents, two points behind.

The real winners on the night were LillyMay and Darragh who raised a considerab­le sum for their Strictly campaign.

JERSEY DISPLAY

Visitors to Oulart-The Ballagh’s main complex can view the framed jerseys of the club’s AllStars. This recognitio­n of some of the club’s most illustriou­s players is sure to motivate the present-day youngsters to strive for excellence too and to emulate those dedicated wielders of the camán. 3pm Reading of the Passion and Veneration of the Cross. LOURDES TICKET DRAW

Our Parish Lourdes Ticket Draw will take place next weekend at 10.30am Mass on Easter Sunday morning. Tickets are still available costing €5. We thank you for your support and hopefully this year again we may be able to send a parishione­r or two on this wonderful Pilgrimage.

CAMROSS PASSION PLAY

A screening of the National Opera House Production of the Camross Passion Play 2012 will be held in Camross Hall on Good Friday 29th March at 7pm.

Everyone is welcome, we would love to see our cast, choirs, and crews from all previous production­s 2000, 2006, 2012 & 2018. The general public is also invited to attend. We are looking forward to a wonderful community get-together.

There is no charge for this event, however, donations will be made to St. Munn’s St. Vincent de Paul and Wexford Marine Watch and buckets will be in the Hall. We look forward to seeing you one and all.
