We had a great turnout for our first outing of the year with 28 members playing. On what was a very testing Macreddin course in difficult conditions it was still a close affair with Gary Kinsella playing off 16 came in with the winning score of 27 pts. Well done to Gary and to all who took part. Thanks again to Bernie of Porters who sponsored the prizes and supplying food on the night. Winners are as follows.

Overall G Kinsella (16) 27 points. Category 1 - 1st Joe Kenny (8) 26 points; 2nd L Kinsella (6) 23 points last three; 3rd Paddy Sinnott (8) 23 points back 9. Category 2 - 1st S Kenna (18) 24 points back 9; 2nd Joan Sinnott (16) 24 points; 3rd John Sweeney (22) 21 points. Front 9 Pat Timmons (11) 15 points. Back 9 Emmet Doyle (10) 11 points. 2’s Pat Timmons 4th hole. Alan Sinnott was the most improved golfer on the day.

Next outing is on 13th April to Mount Wolseley GC. Tee times 11.10-12.20. Please note all membership­s must be paid by that date.

This year’s event will take place on the 5th. of May and all the proceeds will go to the Monageer Community First Responders , First Light and Talk to Tom. This has proved to be a great family event and whether you want to race, run, jog or walk you will be heartily welcomed and your effort celebrated.

ANNUAL PATRON

The annual Patron in St. Cormac’s cemetery will take place on Sunday the 23rd. of June at 2.00 pm. Families with graves in the cemetery are asked to clean them in preparatio­n for the Patron and also asked to remove all rubbish in order to help keep it clean and tidy.

Anccr Area Developmen­t (CE Scheme) have the following vacancies: a Childcare Assistant to work in Raheen Childcare Centre and General Operatives to work in Terrerath and other areas of our Scheme.

This is a brilliant opportunit­y to re-join the workforce and upskill.

The programme will provide the successful childcare candidate with a pathway to gaining a QQI L5 or L6 qualificat­ion in childcare while also gaining practical experience.

It will provide the General Operative candidate with practical experience and training in use of machinery and spraying, etc or training in the candidates own area of interest.
