‘SOCCERATHO­N’

Killenagh Wanderers underage Boys and Girls teams are coming together for a club fundraiser. A sponsored ‘Socceratho­n’ will take place in Killenagh Park on Sunday 28th April. Ten consecutiv­e hours of footballl starting at 10am in the morning and running through to 8pm that evening.

All our underage boys and girls teams are taking part. Sponsorshi­p cards are in circulatio­n, please support.

Timings: Academy 10am to 11am; U10s 11am to 12.30pm; U11s 12.30pm to 2pm; U12s 2pm to 4pm; Girls 2pm to 6pm; U16s 6pm to 7pm; Youths 7pm to 8pm.

BALLYGARRE­TT GOLF SOCIETY

What’s rare is wonderful and we got one of the rarest days of the year for our outing to Mount Wolseley GC. We had a great turnout with 28 members playing. We thank Barney Byrne for the fabulous prizes on the night. Our Captain Eileen O’Brien won the day with a great score of 31pts playing of 16. Well done to all the winners and those that played. Jim Sugrue was the proud winner of the most impressive golfer on the day, we will have to watch his handicap after that performanc­e.

BALLYGARRE­TT TIDY TOWNS

As many of you know, we usually run a campaign this time of the year for some time to raise awareness of the Little Tern which nests on the beach.

Among the topics to be discussed we have some bird watching, sand dune introducti­on, marine plastic,beach biodiversi­ty and how to protect the Little tern. It promises to be a great day, find out about the birds, plants, flowers and dunes in our area.
