SOAK RELEASES NEW SONG
SOAK’s first single for three years, ‘Everybody Loves You’, received its Irish premiere last week on Today FM’s Paul McLoone Show – and a damn fine 3m 19secs of evocative pop it is too!
“‘Everybody Loves You’ is a song about extreme denial,” Ms. MondsWatson informs us. “More specifically about my stubborn ability to convince myself I don’t want something that I do and blind my rational thought process – I suppose in this case, as a way of self-protection and avoiding vulnerability. The lift at the end of the song (‘Everybody wants you, And I do to’) represents the almost comedic/foolish acceptance of my own feelings. A 360 turn of events in which I then so desperately want all that I had rejected and pushed away. A consistent theme of my younger self.”
To get back in the live saddle, the now veteran 22-year-old is playing intimate shows in Oh Yeah, Belfast (November 26) and The Grand Social, Dublin (27) before hitting up similarly sized venues in Manchester and London.
