VULPYNES

Hot Press - - MY 2018 -

HERO OF 2018?

Catherine Corless for her bravery and dedication in uncovering the Tuam scandal.

VILLAIN OF 2018?

Any landlord that put their tenant’s rent up, mine included. Fecker.

BEST PERSONAL MOMENT?

When Vulpynes supported Deap Vally in the Grand Social, I was squealing inside trying not to act like a super fan.

BEST MOVIE?

Dublin Oldschool.

BEST RECORD?

Nine Inch Nails’ Bad Witch or IDLES’ Joy As An Act Of Resistance.

BEST TV PROGRAMME?

Making A Murderer. Kathleen Zellner is badass. I’m such a nerd I read all the court and repeal documents in their entirety, so if anyone wants to have a Steven Avery innocent or guilty debate, hit me up (I’m in the ‘he’s innocent’ camp).

BEST BOOK?

I read F**K It Do What You Love by John C Parkin on a plane recently, which was a random airport purchase. I highly recommend it. Simple effective advice about doing what you love.

BEST THING ABOUT THE YEAR?

The 8th Amendment being repealed. That campaign was an emotional rollercoaster. When the final results came through, I cried my eyes out and never felt more proud to be Irish.

HOPE FOR 2019?

Write more music, see more of the world and hit more festivals. • Vulpynes play The Underground, Dublin on December 28
