Own­ers Conor Mee and Char­lotte Carr met while train­ing in the tourism col­lege in Killy­begs in Done­gal in the mid-’90s. and now pre­side over one of the finest restau­rants in Mon­aghan. We’re big fans of their Tapas Menu with Home­made Black pud­ding,

White Beans & Fried Egg; Grilled Broccoli with Cae­sar May­on­naise; and Crispy Ham & Duck Liver Paté with Chut­ney & Sour­dough Toast among the ro­tat­ing cast of beau­ti­fully pre­sented small plates. The equally tempt­ing mains in­clude Veni­son Haunch with Pick­led Red Cab­bage, Ar­ti­choke & Sprouts and, for the pescatar­i­ans among you, Roast Monk­fish, Dun­nany Crab Claws, Greens & Gar­lic But­ter, which pos­i­tively tastes of ocean. Sun­day Lunch is a big thing at the Court­house with an ex­cel­lent € 28 Three Course Menu that in­cludes a par­tic­u­larly win­ning Fried Chicken with Shi­itake Mush­rooms, Onions & Gar­lic But­ter. It’s a gor­geous room too with staff who are evan­gel­i­cal about the food.

For a light sup­per, try a few of the dishes from their Tapas Menu, which in­cludes Home­made Black Pud­ding and Roar­ing Bay Mus­sels.
