This gor­geous old coun­try pub is right at the heart of the Car­ling­ford ac­tion, which gets par­tic­u­larly lively dur­ing the sum­mer months, when the town welcomes a United Na­tions of vis­i­tors. Whilst the Beef & Guin­ness Pie and burg­ers both com­pre­hen­sively hit the spot, it’s the su­per-fresh oys­ters and crab claws that are the real stars. Ar­ti­san beer fans should check out the lo­cally brewed Tholsel Blonde and Taafe’s Red.

This mod­ern neigh­bour­hood hang­out is an Amer­i­can-tinged bistro serv­ing up fancy food along­side el­e­vated bar sta­ples. They’ve an ex­cel­lent menu fea­tur­ing lush steaks from lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional sup­pli­ers and fresh seafood. They’re renowned for their deca­dent Sweet & Cheese menu with de­lights such as the Hazel­nut Brownie Deluxe with Tof­fee Ice Cream, Crum­bled Hon­ey­comb, Whipped Cream & Caramel.
