STUART CLARK is looking forward to the lid being lifted on 1940s Hollywood


From the writers and makers of American Horror Story, Pose and The Politician comes Hollywood, a Netflix sevenparte­r set in post-World War II Tinseltown. The glitz will only run so deep, though, with “the spotlight being turned on the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day.”

Darren Criss and Jim Parsons costar in the big budget production, which premieres on May 1.

Stephen Rea is to star in Ladder Of Angels, a police procedural series set in the 1980s, which delves into the dark side of Irish politics and history.

Written by author John Connell, Rea plays “Aidan Deane, a seasoned detective and a man of secrets.”

He’s also hitting the big screen in British Intelligen­ce espionage thriller, The Increment.

Having appeared to be in terminal decline, Scandi crime drama is enjoying a bumper 2020 with first Stockholm Requiem – see hotpress. com for our interview with its star – and now The Truth Will Out,

another labryntine whodunit set in the Swedish capital.

Peter is the pill popping head of a cold case department which is a dumping ground for other screw-up cops who, much to the disgust of a corrupt bunch of public prosecutor­s, suddenly rediscover their mojos.
