The Galway Hospitality Ball at the Galmont Hotel & Spa
Members of Galway’s hospitality industry gathered in their finery for the annual black tie Galway Hospitality Ball, this year honouring John Crumlish, CEO of the Galway International Arts Festival for his contribution to cultural tourism and the hospitality sectors across the city and county. Galmont Hotel & Spa general manager Stefan Lundstrom welcomed the 300 guests, including Galway International Arts Festival artistic director Paul Fahy; the Irish Hotels Federation president Michael Lennon and chief executive Tim Fenn; Galway City Mayor Niall McNellis; and Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council Seán Ó Tuairisg. Attendees were welcomed with prosecco and Jameson Caskmates & tonics before everyone sat down to a delicious five-course feast created by some of Galway’s leading chefs – including Glenlo Abbey’s Dominique Majecki, The Ardilaun Hotel’s Ultan Cooke, the Galmont’s Adrian Bane, The g’ Hotel’s Jason O’Neill, and The Clayton Hotel’s Patrick Loewen – as a closing celebration of the successful European Region of Gastronomy 2018.
