Opening night of Mark Dion: Our Plundered Planet
at the Hugh Lane Gallery
Art fans gathered in Dublin’s Hugh Lane Gallery for the opening of US artist Mark Dion’s first solo museum exhibition, Our Plundered Planet, which addresses the issue of global warming and its consequences. Hugh Lane Gallery director Dr Barbara Dawson welcomed guests, including Sinéad Burke, Tropical Popical’s Andrea Horan, designers Brendan Courtney and Helen James, and NCAD director Sarah Glennie. The exhibition, which runs until September 1, was then officially opened by Lord Mayor of Dublin Nial Ring. A limited edition print entitled A Guide to the Birds of Dada and Surrealism and Their Influences, created by Mark Dion especially for the exhibition, is available.
