THREE DOABLE DAY TRIPS
1 15 MIN: MONSANTO
Often called “Lisbon’s lung”, this forest park is surprisingly close to the city centre and makes for an easy way to get some outdoor time in. There are trails, several playgrounds, an indoor-outdoor adventure park, and a cool café.
2 30 MIN: CASCAIS AND SURROUNDS
Mix a city break with a taste of the seaside by hitting up the pretty resort town of Cascais. You’ll find kid-friendly surf schools, beachside eateries, parks and more.
3 45 MIN: SINTRA
If you’re in Lisbon for more than 48 hours, it’s worth going to Sintra. Kids will love the colourful Pena Palace and the warren of underground caves at Quinta da Regaleira. A train from central Lisbon will cost less than €4 return.
