Bright idea

Jennifer Rock has brought the insights from her online skincare consultancy to Skingredients, a capsule of essentials that work for all, numbered in the order you use them. There’s the core four – PreProbiotic Cleanser, €25; Skin Veg, €42 (your skin’s 10+ a day); Skin Protein, €42; plus broad spectrum SPF 50, and three products to mix for specific concerns. “No matter your skin type, we all need the same nutrients,” says Jennifer. “I started looking at the main generic skincare issues and the ingredients to combat them; that’s where Skingredients came from.” Available in pharmacies and department stores from June 6.

WHEN RUPAUL CAME TO DUBLIN

“RuPaul launched the first Viva Glam lipstick in Brown Thomas,” Lesley Keane, global senior artist at MAC told me at the 25-year celebration of the MAC Aids Fund. “A sea of Irish drag queens were crying and banging on the window, and RuPaul said, ‘I’ve just seen the River Lippy! How the hell do you walk on these Dublin cobblestones in these heels?’ To celebrate 25 years, there’s a new lipstick, VG25, €20, housed in Dorothy red glitter and in the shade of the original Viva Glam, with 100 per cent of the price going to help the lives of those affected by HIV.

GOOD HAIR ON THE GO THE DAFNI ALLURE, €159, A CORDLESS STRAIGHTENING BRUSH, IS COMPLETELY IDIOT-PROOF, CAN FIT INTO YOUR HANDBAG, AND IS A GAMECHANGER FOR SMOOTHING THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD. “GO UNDER THE HAIR WITH IT, SECTION BY SECTION FOR REALLY SMOOTH HAIR,” SAYS CIARAN PURCELL, PETER MARK’S HEAD OF RETAIL EXPERIENCE. AVAILABLE NOW FROM PETER MARK SALONS, PETERMARK.IE.
