Ashley Park House

-

THE SELL Off the beaten track, yet close to Nenagh, a wedding at Ashley Park House will feel relaxed and special. The setting is beautiful: alongside its own private lake, Lough Ourna, the picture-perfect 18th century house is surrounded by 76 acres of beech woodlands, magnificent walled gardens and rolling lawns. The beautiful façade – all green shutters and leaded windows – is matched by warm hospitality, laid-back vibes and homely comforts. Wedding parties enjoy exclusive use of the house and grounds, from canapés and drinks on the front lawn to taking over the main house, residents’ bar and lounges. RSVP A light-filled glass-fronted Pavilion can seat up to 300 for dining and partying into the night, but smaller weddings can be accommodated within the main house. There are courtyard suites and cottages dotted around the grounds as well as a shuttle bus to nearby guest cottages where over 100 guests can stay. THE MONEY SHOT The jetty overlooking the lake delivers a knock-out wedding portrait, though the gorgeous veranda sweeping along the front of the main house is pretty hard to beat. And then there’s that walled flower garden. SEASONAL THRILLS The lake vista changes so much with the seasons. With a summer wedding, there is a garden party feel, with Pimm’s on the sweeping lawn. For a winter wedding, guests can enjoy the warmth of roaring fires in the main house, flickering candles and the rich winter shades of natural holly and berries as decoration. Ashley Park’s fantastic gardens supply fresh flowers for the Pavilion tables as well as seasonal vegetables and fruits for the chefs. SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT Couples can enjoy a Humanist or Civil ceremony on the front lawn, in the walled garden or, most popular, in Ashley Park’s fabulous lakeside Boathouse ceremony room.
