The third annual Leopardstown Ladies Evening in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland

The Leopardstown Pavilion was decked out in pink floral displays as the third annual Ladies Evening in aid of Breast Cancer Ireland got underway, with 440 guests treated to Taittinger champagne, music by singer-songwriter Penelope Austin, a five-course feast, magician, juggler and sketches by an artist. Beauty brand Raven offered makeovers and top-ups, while a “balloon pop” competition saw guests win Taittinger gift sets, and Tote bets offered the chance to win a diamond pendant from Appleby Jewellers. Author and broadcaster Maïa Dunphy hosted the event and was joined on stage by Leopardstown CEO Pat Keogh, followed by Breast Cancer Ireland CEO Aisling Hurley and 98FM’s Georgie Crawford, who shared her story of surviving cancer. Inspirational words followed from MD of Microsoft Ireland Cathriona Hallahan; as well as businesswoman and Dragons’ Den investor Chanelle, Lady McCoy. But the biggest excitement was on the track, as lady jockeys saddled up for the inaugural €50,000 Microsoft Cup, the most valuable ladies’ race ever held in Europe, which was won by Hayley Turner, riding Arthurian Flame.
