FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The launch of Food On The Edge 2019 at Darby’s, London Chefs, food writers and industry insiders gathered in Irish chef Robin Gill’s newly opened London restaurant, Darby’s, for the international launch of Food On The Edge 2019. Chefs Tom Brown, Skye Gyngell, Pierre Koffmann and Douglas McMaster all spoke at the launch, while signature snacks showcasing Irish food and prepared by London-based Irish chefs Robin Gill, Kevin Burke, Anna Haugh, Aidan McGee and Shauna Froydenlund – who also spoke about being Irish chefs in London – were served. The theme for this year’s annual global food symposium, founded by JP McMahon and running October 21-22 in Galway, will be migration – looking at how food travels and how that affects people’s perception of food – and speakers will include Sophia Hoffmann, Romy Gill, Denis Lovatel, Daniel Giusti, Kristian Baumann, Leonor Espinosa, Mark Best, Prateek Sadhu, Ben Shrewry, Alberto Landgraf and
Derry Clarke. Early bird tickets available until the end of June.
