THE LAST SUIT I BOUGHT
was a Calvin Klein skirt suit I picked up in New York about five years ago, but I can’t remember the last time I wore a suit to the office. The dress code is less formal these days, but I always have a jacket on standby. I own a couple of Chanelinspired short jackets that can dress up a plain tunic dress or a shirt and cigarette pants combination.
MY GO-TO WORKWEAR BRANDS ARE
Cos, LK Bennett, Whistles and Reiss. I love a pared-back Scandi aesthetic for work, so Cos is a particular favourite of mine and it’s where I pick up most of my essentials. I prefer to keep my look quite classic in the office, but I will occasionally buy an on-trend piece from Zara. I love the shape and quality of the clothes at Whistles. A classic white shirt teamed with one of its pleated skirts and a block heel has been a staple look of mine this year. I buy a Reiss coat every other year. The quality and fit are superb and they complete an outfit perfectly.
I KEEP ACCESSORIES TO A MINIMUM.
I have a long chunky chain that I bought on the high street a few years ago, which adds a bit of personality to a buttonfront shirt. I also own two beautiful necklaces from Loulerie, which I will wear with V-neck wrap dresses.
The temperature is fairly consistent in our office and I do drive to work, so I’m not dressing for the weather as such, but I like to upgrade my look with a few new pieces each season. I mix these with my Cos basics, which I wear throughout the year.
EACH YEAR, I DO A WINTER AND SPRING/SUMMER SHOP FOR WORK.
