DAVID McMILLAN
David McMillan is a Northern Irish illustrator currently living and working in Bristol. His work has appeared in magazines, graced beer bottles and been translated into large scale murals and for a wide range of clients, including The Guardian, Lush Cosmetics, the Financial Times and Beer52. His work combines his love of mark-making, bold and colourful shapes, and traditional printmaking techniques. He finds inspiration from people-watching. “I love seeing little stories play out when I walk around the city, and how the colours and shapes of people interact.” In this issue, he illustrates Emer McLysaght’s witty take on finally making that appointment with the mortgage broker on page 160. “Myself and my partner are currently weighing up the pros and cons of renting forever, so I laughed out loud at this piece.”
