The leading lights in hairdressing, creativity and fashion were celebrated at the #WellaCreativeRemix featuring the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2019 Ireland Heat. The Ireland finalists were announced at a unique fashion show at the InterContinental Hotel in Dublin.

Now in its 15th year, the 2019 awards took a fresh new format, which included a model showcase and inspirational catwalk shows which threw back to the 1980s and 90s.

HOB Academy’s award-winning hairdressing icons Akin Konizi and Jake Unger were inspired by the 80s.

Stephen Aiken from Conroy Hair used Parisian street style as reference.

The Wella Professionals Style Council show, in collaboration with Bruce Masefield, was inspired by Calvin Klein 90s nonchalance, with styling inf luenced by 90s supermodels.

The Ireland Heat was hosted by James Kavanagh and also featured creative demonstration zones, a competitor gallery and Robert Eaton’s wig installation – all with a relaxed and informal vibe.

Amid the hairspray, a live DJ set by Mona-Lxsa, and a finite number of hair slides, the real excitement of the night was when the finalists had the opportunity to present their models, and the winners from the four categories were crowned.

Making up the impressive judging panel were Jamie McDonald from Cheynes, Leslie Hunter from Frances Hunter Hairdressing, and Lamphane Pathammachak from Michael Van Clarke, who were judging the Male Grooming Category.

Judging the Runway and Creative Artist Category were Colin McAndrew from Medusa, Leonardo Rizzo from Sanrizz, Trudy Hayes from Raven App, and Carol Joyce from Yourells. On the Color Artist of The Year panel were Jordanna Cobella from Cobella,

Andrew Dunne from Hair by Mane, and Edward Darley from Sassoon.
