The plant-based Dalkey salon that’s turning heads

YOU JUST LAUNCHED HAIRTALK HAIR EXTENSIONS THIS YEAR. IS 2019 YOUR BUSIEST YEAR YET?

Oh my yes it is! We now have LanaiBLO Hairdryers, InStyler Hair Tools, Gold Fever Hair Extensions and Hairtalk Hair Extensions. It’s non-stop building each of the brands. Hairtalk launched in April this year and we are now in over 80 salons across Ireland and the UK and our training courses for salons are fully booked until 2020.

WHAT MAKES HAIRTALK EXTENSIONS STAND OUT FROM OTHER BRANDS?

A full head of Hairtalk extensions can be applied in under 45 minutes, the tape is medical grade and very quickly it’s becoming the most soughtafter tape extension brand across Ireland and the UK.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO STAY ON TOP OF YOUR GAME?

The truth is, I am very ambitious. I always have been and I always want to provide both the customer and salons with the best products.

WHAT IMPACT DID WINNING IMAGE YOUNG BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR IN 2013 HAVE ON YOU AS A BUSINESSWOMAN?

I can’t believe that was six years ago. It opened doors and gave me credibility as a young business woman.

YOU RUN LANAIBLO HAIRDRYER, INSTYLER, HAIRTALK HAIR EXTENSIONS AND GOLD FEVER HAIR EXTENSIONS WITH YOUR HUSBAND BARRY. HOW HAS HAVING CHILDREN IMPACTED ON THE BUSINESS?

I don’t travel for work like I used to. Barry and I are a great team and I love working with him. Becoming a mum is my greatest achievement. I look at my children and now I know it’s them I’m working for.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER COUPLES ENTERING BUSINESS TOGETHER?

You have to make sure you have a strong relationship before you commit to working, living and being with each other 24/7. Business is tough, but if you are a team then it is the greatest gift.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

2020 will be a big year for us. We are taking LanaiBLO international. We are stepping into the tech space with a new online hair and beauty sales platform that we have developed – it is a very unique concept and an exciting direction we are moving in with it.
