THREE STEPS TO MAGPIE HEAVEN
O’Dwyer may be well trained in gemology, smithery and stone setting, but, these days, he works almost exclusively on design. He uses CAD to create his ideas, each piece comprised of different components, flat-pack style, that then become one entity.
SMART Once the digital design has been approved, it is sent to a 3D printer to make a silicone prototype, which will be cast before transforming into precious metal. This will be readied for stone placement by a multinational team.
