LISTENING EXERCISE
Opening night of Beckett’s Room at the Gate Theatre
Stars of the stage gathered in the Gate for the opening night of a very unique theatre experience.
Beckett’s Room by Dead Centre is a play without performers, which tells the story of the apartment in Paris where Samuel Beckett lived with his partner Suzanne during World War II. The audience listen through headphones and gaze upon a spectacle of absence; the absence of bodies on stage allowing theatregoers to focus more intently on
the characters’ stories.
