LOUISE SAMUELSEN

-

From an early age, photographer Louise Samuelsen was fascinated by the process of seeing images come to life, taking a bus an hour each way to attend a photography course after school at 14. She enjoys the process of planning a shoot: “You can control it up to a point, and then you have to let go and observe what the subject might do with the idea. Like setting the scene to an unscripted play.”

This was certainly the case for the beauty story she captured on page 102, where poor weather required a last-minute location change. “At times you have to let go of the plan, and in this case it just worked. We had put together an incredible team, so I thoroughly enjoyed letting go of my best laid plans, and seeing it unfold into a stunning shoot.”
