CHRISSY and Fashion stylist and journalist Suzie Coen, above, currently divides her time between Dublin and an idyllic lakeside bolthole in Co Clare. She applies her many talents to everything from editorial shoots to television, but she says she has enjoyed the chance to reflect on her style mishaps in her new IMAGE column on page 41. “Even for those who work in the industry, fashion is scary sometimes. As someone who is still expecting any moment to acquire faultless style, I have to report that unfortunately, advancing years do not automatically lead to the Place of No Fashion Mistakes. It’s been an actual joy to lift the lid on my personal style ‘journey’, jam-packed as it is with plenty of fashion freefalls and dressing disasters.” This journey has been brought to life by illustrator Chrissy Curtin, below. Although originally from Kerry, she is currently based in Cork, and has brought her bold style to Suzie’s columns. She says she is most inspired by different textures, and the contrast between light and shadows. As well as illustrations, she makes zines, pins and totes for her Etsy shop.
