The little girl who was seriously injured in a shocking knife attack in Dublin on November 23 is doing well, her family has revealed in an update on Wednes‐ day, April 3.

“Hello everyone, our little warrior is doing well,” the family of the young girl, whose name has not been released, said in an update on the "Barróg do Chailín Beag (A Hug For A Little Girl)" Go‐ FundMe page on Wednesday.

“She has been through quite a lot, but that hasn't stopped her from smiling and being curious.

“These past weeks have shown us even more so how resilient she is, but also put our own strength into check as we have match her determination.

“We have only begun the rehabilitation phase, and the questions regarding her future and ours are present. “Despite all the mights and maybes, we have to believe in her, mainly because she does.”

The family of the girl previously said on March 4: "After some serious tummy is‐ sues, doctors are hoping to reintroduce food into our darling daughter's day over the next few weeks. She has been un‐ dergoing rehabilitation therapies to help reinstate her abilities.

"She is so capable and we are praying that things improve further mid-spring." Earlier, on January 30, the family said that the girl was back in the ICU after a "bit of a setback."

"Bumps in the road, particularly this long one, are to be expected," the family said at the time. "Nevertheless we are still positive and hoping to get back on the ward."

An Garda Síochána said on November 23 that a serious assault occurred near Gaelscoil Colaiste Mhuire on Parnell Square East in Dublin's City Centre shortly after 1:30 pm that day.

The young girl, two other children, and a carer from the school, Leanne Flynn, were hospitalized after the attack. Two of the children were released not long after the attack, while Flynn remained hospitalized for a longer period though has since also been released. Several GoFundMe pages to support the victims and the responders were launched after the knife attack and the subsequent riot - nine were verified by the crowdfunding platform, though some of them are no longer accepting dona‐ tions.

The GoFundMe for the girl has raised more than €87,300 as of Wednesday evening. Another GoFundMe set up to support Flynn and the children, which is no longer accepting donations, raised nearly €270,000.

In December, Riad Bouchaker, who was also hospitalized, was arrested in rela‐ tion to the attack. He has been charged with the attempted murder of two fe‐ male children and one male child; as‐ sault causing serious harm to a female childcare worker; and three counts of assault causing harm to the three chil‐ dren and was additionally charged with one count of possession or production of a 36cm kitchen knife.
