Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick receive Ireland Funds Performing Arts Award

"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick have received The Ireland Funds Performing Arts Award at the organization's 46th annual New York Gala.

Parker and Broderick were honored for their "passionate support of Irish arts and culture" at the gala event, which took place in front of around 600 people on Thursday,

The pair, who married in 1997, are regular visitors to Ireland and have a holiday home in County Donegal.

Parker and Broderick reportedly spend their summers in Donegal along with their 21-year-old son James and their 14-year-old twins Tabitha and Marion. Earlier in the week, Parker congratulated Irish radio station RTÉ lyric fm for reaching 25 years on the air.

"Happy 25th birthday to @rtelyricfm !!!!" Parker said in a post on Instagram. "To Evelyn Grant and all the great hosts at Lyric, we are very fortunate to have you filling our days with beautiful music.

"Here’s to the next 25 musical years."

Launched in 1978, Ireland Funds has raised over $650 million for more than 3,000 non-profits and causes across Ireland. Thursday's Gala also honored New York Stock Exchange President Lynn Martin with the Leslie C. Quick Jr. Leadership Award.

The Gala took place at Pier 60 in Manhattan, beginning with a cocktail reception, which was followed by dinner and the awards presentation. Previous award winners include Colin Farrell, who won the Performing Arts Award in 2018 in recognition of his work as an actor, and Hillary Clinton, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 for her work during the peace process in Northern Ireland. Noble Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ireland Funds in 2012.
