Tom’s infatuation with the London social scene has paved the way for countless high-society liaisons (and more diary column inches dedicated to his love life). Romances include a two-year affair with Daphne Guinness in the early noughties (the upper-crust style icon was often pictured crouching next to him for photos), followed by a long-term romance with the socialite and interior designer Fran Hickman, which ended in 2010. A dalliance ensued with heiress Jemima Goldsmith but fizzled out in 2013, shortly before she started dating Russell Brand. Tom’s stuttering love life is clearly a sore spot, leading him to bemoan, ‘I am single. Acting can make it hard to have profound relationships if you’re not careful.’
