Hartside on course for his hat-trick

-

HARTSIDE can complete a speedy hat-trick in the 14-furlong handicap at Ballinrobe this evening. Tommy Carmody (below), who has been going great guns since renewing his licence to train, has found a gem of a three-year-old in this son of Montjeu, who annihilated his rivals in a 12-furlong handicap at Tramore eight days ago before following up with a two-length win in a two-mile handicap at Wexford on Friday. It is rare for a horse to win three races in such a short timeframe. But Hartside looks as tough as they come and is taken to hold Marlo’s Moment, who scored nicely over a mile and a half at Roscommon just over a week ago. Mickey Winters’ Missunited, who is guaranteed to cope with the heavy ground and the trip, should be hard to stop in the 14-furlong maiden for three-year-olds and upwards. Daigreen, who scored over course and distance just over a fortnight ago, is hard to oppose in the nine-furlong handicap for three-year-olds. While Daigreen has risen sharply in the ratings since and the ground will be a lot more testing, he is still hard to ignore. Choisilady carries top weight of 10st and her overall form is hardly eye-catching. But she was noted when running a good fourth to Battle Of Saratoga at Limerick in June before finishing third to Allusive Power over course and distance four days later. Maude Adams is one to consider for the nine-furlong conditions race, while Osana can gain a long-awaited success over fences in the two-mile, one-furlong conditions chase.
