A NO GO FOR MO, SAYS JOE

- MARK WILSON

JOE LEDLEY last night told Mo Bangura he would be guilty of disrespecting Celtic by playing in tomorrow’s Champions League showdown. And the Welsh midfielder also warned that Bangura may never be able to return to Parkhead if he helps Elfsborg shatter the European dreams of Neil Lennon’s side. The Sierra Leone one striker’s participation has been the hot topic in the build-up to the first leg of the thirdround qualifier er in Glasgow. Bangura is currently on loan at Elfsborg after failing to score a goal for Celtic following his switch from AIK Stockholm in 2011. The Swedes remain adamant they will field the 24-year-old in the tie as there is nothing in the loan agreement precluding his involvement. Parkhead boss Neil Lennon (below) is firmly against his participation, however, leaving Bangura with a selfconfessed ‘dilemma’ to confront. Ledley admitted some sympathy for his erstwhile teammate, but strongly backed Lennon’s stance. ‘If I was in the same position as Mo I probably wouldn’t play in the game out of loy loyalty and res respect to Ce Celtic,’ he s said. ‘He’s contracted to the club a and I don’t t think it wo would be the best move for hi him. ‘But some players are different and maybe he’s trying to get a reaction from people and prove how good he is. ‘If he scored the winner and knocked us out of the Champions League, then it would be difficult for him to come back,’ added Ledley.
