Mrs Brown’s Boys set for a second big screen outing

- By Lynne Kelleher

IT may have only recently wrapped up filming but the Mrs Brown’s Boys film has already been snapped up for a sequel, according to actor Simon Delaney.

And filming scenes of the movies made for ‘one of the happiest experiences’ of his career.

‘They actually allowed ten minutes every morning to hug each other. It was like working with Italians and it was a great script,’ The Fall star said.

Delaney, who has a cameo in the film, told The Saturday Night Show: ‘It’s going to be a monster of a hit. Universal made the movie and I believe they have already ordered the sequel.

‘We’ve spent seven weeks in Dublin and London shooting the movie. I have to say it was one of the happiest experiences I have ever had as an actor.’

The Dubliner is soon to star as a brother to Vince Vaughn’s character in his first Hollywood movie – The Delivery Man. And Delaney said he is over the moon to be starring opposite Vaughn in the comedy, which is set to be released in the US later this month.

In the film, a former sperm donor finds out that he has 533 children and 142 of them want to meet him.

Delaney said: ‘It’s my first movie over there and it’s not a bad one to start with. It’s [made by] Disney and Dreamworks.’

He gained fame in the US after winning a part in the drama series The Good Wife following a series of roles in Irish series like Bachelors Walk and Moone Boy.
