- By Alison O’Riordan

TROUBLED pop s t ar Justin Bieber has allegedly claimed his mother, Pattie Mallette, provided him with anti-anxiety prescription drugs shortly before his arrest on Thursday.

The 19-year-old Canadian heartthrob appeared before a Miami court accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs and resisting arrest without violence

He was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after racing a yellow Lamborghini at up to 60mph in a 30mph speed limit zone against another sports car on a Miami Beach street.

The other sports car was identified as a rented Ferrari driven by R&B singer Khalil Sharieff.

Justin’s 21- year- old model friend Chatal Jeffries was in the car with him

The singer has allegedly claimed his mother provided him with anti-anxiety prescription drugs shortly before his arrest.

The troubled singer is said to have told law enforcement officers that he ‘ wasn’t sure exactly what kind’ of prescription drugs he had taken because he ‘ takes whatever his mom Pattie gives him’.

Apparently Justin’s f ather, Jeremy Bieber, played a part in his son’s arrest by assisting with blocking off the residential street that it took place on.

The star, who reportedly earned $40million last year, arrived at Miami-Dade County Jail where he had his mugshots and fingerprints taken, dressed i n an orange jump suit.

After posting bail at $2,500, Bieber saluted fans as he left jail.

The teen superstar, who was escorted by officials, climbed on to the roof of a car to greet his massive loyal legion of fans, many of whom were in tears, before being driven away.

Bieber’s management team have now issued the troubled teen with an ultimatum to get help by going to rehab.

Celebrities have come out against and in support of Justin Bieber after the singer’s arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

The star was blasted on Twitter by comedy actor Seth Rogen, but received encouragement from fellow superstar Lady Gaga, who called on her army of fans, dubbed ‘Little Monsters’, not to judge the entertainer.

Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, also took to Twitter to

express his backing for the singer, who he discovered in 2008 when he came across Bieber’s videos on YouTube.

‘@justinbieber love you and i will act in the manner of someone who truly cares. that is all I have to say. thanks for all those concerned,’ he wrote.

The arrest came a week after Mr Bieber’s home in Los Angeles was searched by police following allegations he had thrown eggs at his neighbour’s house, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

In t hat case, authorities arrested one member of Bieber’s entourage, rapper Lil Za, on suspicion of drug possession.

Last year, the singer was asked to remove graffiti he had left on the wall of a hotel in Australia.

In 2012 he faced accusations of reckless driving, although prosecutors declined to press charges.

According to the bookies, it is highly likely the singer will serve more than 28 days behind bars this year. They are putting the odds of Bieber’s landing himself a lengthy jail sentence after his recent spate of arrests at 14/1.

Bieber played at the O2 in Dublin last year before being named by Forbes as one of the top ten Most Powerful Celebrities 2013.

Bieber’s first full-length studio album, My World 2.0, was released in March 2010. It debuted at or near number-one in several countries and was certified platinum in the United States.
