FAKE OR FORTUNE?
SUNDAY, BBC1, 6PM
THE lovely Fiona Bruce and art expert Philip Mould try to prove two paintings are actually missing works by the celebrated landscape artist, John Constable. One of the paintings was stashed under the owner’s bed in London, the other used to be on show at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. So long as it’s the real Ms Bruce presenting, it’ll be worth a look either way.
ROOM 101
FRIDAY, BBC1, 8.30PM
THE many classic moments thrown up by this show include the time the late Peter Cook tried to get rid of the countryside on the grounds that it is ‘full of nothing much really’. This week, Frank Skinner’s guests are Michael Ball, Caroline Quentin and German comedian Henning Wehn. Among the things they try to despatch are fundraising, clairvoyants and junk mail.
PAUL O’GRADY’S ANIMAL ORPHANS
TUESDAY, UTV, 9PM
IN this final instalment of the three-parter, the likeable O’Grady (left) continues around South Africa and Zambia. He meets a hippo calf called Douglas, who was found wandering alone near the Zambezi two months earlier. He also bottle-feeds a baby giraffe and is introduced to a vulture chick named PJ.
PIERS MORGAN’S LIFE STORIES
FRIDAY, UTV, 9PM
IF there’s a celebrity out there who loves the sound of their own voice more than Piers Morgan (left), then I’d like to meet them (not really). This week’s guest is Martin Kemp, who went from Spandau Ballet to EastEnders. Hopefully there’ll be some embarrassing footage of him wearing all that ridiculous New Romantic gear.
