As Prince Andrew dates Clooney’s Croatian model ex, that’s not all they have in common…

RUMOURS that Prince Andrew and Hollywood actor George Clooney’s former girlfriend Monika Jakisic got engaged went into overdrive last week after the 34-year-old model tweeted a picture of a dazzling diamond ring.

Ms Jakisic tweeted the photograph of the ring on top of a €725 restaurant bill while she had dinner with Prince Andrew with the message ‘#thisishowi­tis’.

But on Sunday evening a Buckingham Palace spokesman was forced to deny they were planning on getting married, saying: ‘I can confirm the Duke of York is not engaged to Monika Jakisic.’

The Croatian beauty and the 54-yearold prince have enjoyed three dinner dates in as many weeks. Speculatio­n about their relationsh­ip erupted after they were seen together celebratin­g Prince Andrew’s birthday last month in Cecconi’s restaurant in Mayfair, London — where the prince was reportedly seen kissing Ms Jakisic’s hand and cuddling up to her.

Two days later, they had dinner at The Arts Club in the West End, before Ms Jakisic was spotted giving Prince Andrew a tender kiss on the cheek.

Ms Jakisic, who refers to herself as the ‘Croatian Sensation’ had been in an onoff relationsh­ip with George Clooney, 52, from 2004 until last year.

And while fans of gorgeous George may be bewildered by her new love interest, these photos suggest the two are more similar than one would think.
