TV, modelling ... now Kelly is muscling in on body-building
MODEL Kelly Donegan has undergone a dramatic transformation as she attempts to muscle in on the world of body-building.
The former Tallafornia star is pumped up to represent Ireland in her first European body-building competition.
And the ex-TV3 brunette has gone to extreme lengths in her bid to return home with a prize.
Over the past 18 months, Kelly has transformed herself from model to athlete, living on a strict, protein-rich diet of turkey, chicken, fish and an overwhelming amount of greens. The lean machine now eats every two hours and exercises more than three hours a day to be in peak condition for her sporting debut at the International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness contest in Spain next week. And after eliminating all sauces, refined sugar, red meat, alcohol, fruit and dairy from her diet, the Dubliner, who admitted that at this stage of her preparation feels guilty eating a rice cake, said she’s found her ‘true self ’ on her quest for a clean, healthy lifestyle.
Kelly told the Mail: ‘It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever done, but I know what I’m capable of.
Donegan will fly out from Dublin Airport next Wednesday with 25 Irish team-mates. Her ‘bikini category’ will see her go up against 40 other women, from countries such as the UK and Russia. Her decision to embark on her professional fitness journey came about after she left Sky Sports more than a year ago. She had been working as a Darts Premier League model.
