QUESTION:

HI LINDA, Please can you help me make sense of a tragic event. My 25-year-old friend died by suicide two weeks ago. Although I had known she suffered from depression for many years, since her teens, I had no idea how bad she felt. I feel I should have sensed something and been able to do something for her. We met at least twice a week as she is godmother to my little girl and they adored each other. I’m devastated, feel guilty and I’m losing my faith. I enjoy your column and we both often spoke of your words of faith and trust in the angels. I hope she is safe with them. I miss her so much. Thanks, V

ANSWER: DEAR V, REST assured your friend is safe in the arms of the Creator surrounded by the love and support of the angelic realm, and out of all earthly pain and heartache. Your feelings are natural and, as time goes by and the grieving process takes its course, your faith will be restored. For now, be gentle with yourself and know it was her exit point to leave the universe. Otherwise, the angels would have intervened — it is the only time they are allowed to interfere with our free will, if it is not our time to go. It is my belief we choose our exit point before we arrive in human form, and that it is only the body that leaves — the soul and our love live on eternally. Although your friend may be out of sight, she’ll never, ever leave you. As part of your soul pod of people, she’ll be there to guide you. We can call on our deceased loved ones for help.

FIRST CARD: FORGIVENESS

BY DRAWING this card, your angels ask you to release anger and irritation. They realise you may be perfectly justified in feeling angry. Yet they ask you to look at the high price you pay for being the vessel of anger. Forgiveness does not mean, “What you did is okay to me”. It simply means, “I am no longer willing to carry around pain in response to your actions”. When we hold unforgiveness in our hearts, we only punish ourselves. Your angels will help you release unforgiveness toward yourself or another — if you just ask.

ADVICE/OBSTACLE: SIGNS

YOU’VE asked Heaven to help you. Now it’s up to you to pay attention to the evidence of their help. This card signifies that your angels are trying to get your attention with signs. They might ask a butterfly, or bird to fly near you. Or they might compel you to hear a song several times. They might put an object in your path so that you have to notice it. Drawing this card is also a sign from your angels they are trying to get through — please notice! Ask them to give you a sign whenever you have a decision to make. It’s not a good idea to specify what type of sign you’d like. Leave it up to them. They’re excellent at making their presence known.

OUTCOME: COMPASSION

ARCHANGEL Zadkiel can help you forgive yourself and others, or to compassionately see everyone’s point of view. You needn’t change your stance or behaviour. It simply means approaching the situation with a loving heart, which empowers you and allows creative solutions to pour forth. Soften your heart with respect to this situation, and all the people involved, including yourself.
