Selena’s got her friends but Jennifer is more of a mother figure

IT was just the other day that Selena Gomez was bragging about her friend Olivia Wilde being her wingman when it comes to dating. And now the 22-year- old says that none other than Jennifer Aniston plays a maternal role in her life.

The Disney star- turned- serious actress said that the 46- year- old actress has become her friend, and often gives her maternal advice.

Speaking with KTU radio station, she gushed of Aniston: ‘She’s amazing. We met through my management – they manage her as well – so it was kind of like a friendly meeting and instantly she’s, like, inviting me to her house.’

Selena then said of the star, who is 24 years older than her: ‘She has a pizza oven. Like, we’ve made pizzas at her house. She’s very cool and very sweet. She kind of gives me a lot of, like, maternal advice.’

Last year even, the budding star posted a snap of her hugging Aniston, writing in the caption: ‘I have not only been following her career as a fan since I was eight and now get to watch her completely transform in her new movie CAKE, I have gotten to have real conversations with such a real heart, made my entire year.’

Meanwhile, the day before Selena revealed in a radio interview that she asked a whole host of well-known celebrities to set her up on a date.

‘I just spent the weekend in Kansas with Paul Rudd, Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis and Johnny Knoxville,’ Selena said.

‘I was like, guys, let’s talk about some dates! That’s kinda my approach. When I meet cool people like them I want what they have.’

Selena first came into the American public imagination on The Wizards Of Waverly Place.

However for the rest of the world it was through her liaisons with other young bucks that brought her to our attention, most notably her on-again, off-again relationship with singer Justin Bieber.

When asked if she references her relationship with Bieber in her latest album, Selena said there were hints of it, but the 22-year- old said that the main focus of the album would mostly be about her ‘journey’ and ‘rebirth.’

‘I think there’s hints of it, but I think what I was really excited about was the title of the album [and] the rebirth of Selena,’ she says.

She admitted: ‘I know that maybe vocally I wouldn’t be the greatest singer in the world, but I know my strengths now.

She said her focus was expressing ‘emotion and heart’.

Aside from Bieber, Selena has also been linked with Nick Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Orlando Bloom.
