But it iss still worth a look, if only too whet the appetite for his return to our cinemas next month in Spectre. The plot involves 007 trying to stop a plot to seize control of Bolivia’s water supply. Co-stars include Gemma Arterton.

HARD to believe, but this is the 47th series of this show since it started in 1992. The opening instalment features a performance by veteran singer-songwriter ter Rickie Lee Jones, who will ill be playing her classic Seventies hit Chuck E’s In Love. Other artists scheduled to appear include Foals, My Morning Jacket and Jools’s old bandmates Squeeze, while Richard Thompson, The Weeknd and The Libertines are dueue on in the coming weeks.

So it will be nno surprise to hear his dulcet tones in this three-parter as the cucurrent Marquess of BaBath, Alexander Thynn, hanhands over control of his £1190million estate – called LLongleat – to his 41-year-old son Ceawlin.
