Burial of man killed in quarry

A FATHER of one killed in an accident at a quarry is to be laid to rest today.

John Murphy, Coolfin, south Co. Galway, died in the accident which happened on Friday morning at a quarry in Ardrahan near his home.

It is believed that Mr Murphy, who was in his fifties, died when a lorry rolled back in the family-run quarry.

He is survived by his wife Carmel, his son Darragh, his mother Eileen and brothers and sisters.

Hundreds paid their respects to the popular man at the family home. He will be buried at Labane cemetery today following 1pm Mass at St Teresa’s Church.
