Berahino baited

- By JACK GAUGHAN

SAIDO BERAHINO’S behaviour on deadline day had Darren Fletcher scratching his head, but the West Brom captain said dressing-room ribbing helped. The 22-year-old threatened to go on strike in an ill-judged tweet about chairman Jeremy Peace after he blocked a move to Tottenham, with Fletcher feeling the need to have a quiet word. Berahino got a mixed reception when he went on as a substitute against Southampton and Fletcher said: ‘When you’re on Twitter you can voice your opinions. With me, I moan to my mum, dad and my wife, whereas he’s moaning to however many thousand followers he’s got (76,000). ‘I have had a word with him and we’ll keep that private. The lads have given him a bit of stick. Sometimes that’s the best way because it takes away the tension.’ SUPER STAT: Southampton have failed to score in six of their last 10 away games, winning none.
