AS MUCH as it pains me to see people score goals against my old team, I had to applaud Anthony Martial. This kid could be a player.

His goal was one of those great moments we love to see in the Premier League. He just glides across the pitch and the way he opened up his body to score was lovely to watch.

His transfer fee was extortionate but so was Kevin De Bruyne’s. Martial only received more attention because he looked like a panic buy. It will be interesting to see which Manchester side gets better value for money.

The goal lifted the pressure straight away but Louis van Gaal needs him to be a success because some of his bigmoney signings have not worked out.
