Injured Ivanovic to miss three weeks

- By SIMON JONES

BRANISLAV I VANOVIC expects to be out for three weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered in Serbia’s 2-0 win over Albania last Thursday.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could start Kurt Zouma at right back against Aston Villa on Saturday. Baba Rahman is a left back but also in contention, particularly after missing Ghana’s match last night.

The 21-year-old signing from Augsburg was due to play against Canada in the US but it is understood Ghana did not process his details quickly enough, so he was unable to travel to Washington. Rahman, Ebenezer Assifuah, Richmond Boakye Yiadom and Daniel Amartey were all told not to travel as they did not have the relevant paperwork.

Meanwhile, Mourinho ran the rule over Ukraine winger Andriy Yar molen ko on Monday night. The Dinamo Kiev player, who figured in his country’s 1-0 defeat by Spain, has been recommended to Roman Abramovich and is available as his contract is running down. Ukraine team-mate Taras Stepanenko said: ‘Mourinho will be happy with what he saw from Yarmolenko.’

Everton tried to sign the 25-year- old last summer in a £17million deal and have held further talks with his representatives since, but Kiev’s president wants Yarmolenko to join a bigger club.

Arsenal, Barcelona, Roma and Lazio have also been linked with the player.
