Graffiti jibes on TV’s Homeland
GRAFFITI artists hired to give the new series of Homeland authenticity daubed its set with hidden messages in Arabic calling the TV show ‘racist’.
The slogans, sprayed across the walls of a set designed to be of a Syrian refugee camp, went unnoticed and have now been broadcast in the US.
In the second episode of the fifth season, which will be shown on Channel 4 on Sunday, lead character Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes, can be seen striding past a wall with Arabic script reading: ‘Homeland is racist’ and ‘Homeland is a joke’.
