BEAT GOES ON IN LIMERICK

THERE was a tremendous video doing the rounds online of Limerick fans rejoicing following their crucial 3-1 victory over Galway United last Friday. The win was enough to send the travelling supporters wild. They danced and sang in the away section of Eamonn Deacy Park while one senior citizen among their ranks banged joyfully on a set of drums (below) to keep the party going. It was a great sight and a reminder that even now, in the midst of a nervewrecking end to the campaign, there can be still moments of unrestrained delight. Should Limerick survive, the drums will be worn out.
