DIEGO MARADONA’S PUMAS SUPPORT

‘He is always news. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but you can’t deny that wherever he goes there is a big fuss. It’s good for the players. Maradona (right) always supports every Argentina sport, and for him being (in Leicester against Tonga) all the way from Dubai was massive. To generate extra popularity, it’s always good to have Maradona.’

HIS FAVOURITE WIN OVER IRELAND

‘I’d say for what it meant for Argentina rugby it was the 1999 victory in Lens. That was really unexpected and after that rugby became more popular in Argentina.’

FEARS RUGBY IS NOW TOO PHYSICAL

‘Injuries happen. This is a contact sport. But maybe in the southern hemisphere they play more evasion rugby and northern hemisphere they go more for contact. It’s worth having a look to see if that is the case.’
