Irish are head and shoulders above the rest for clean hair

- AUDREY KANE

SOMETIMES it’s the small things in life that can make a big impact — and not always for the right reasons.

New research carried out by Head & Shoulders reveals dandruff to be a national confidence shaker and interview scenario nightmare.

Admit it, when you see someone with a black jacket covered in little white flakes, well, it’s quite off-putting and makes a lasting impression. Although seemingly small and insignifi- cant, these little white flakes are making a big impact across the nation. Nearly three quarters of those surveyed by Head Shoulders revealed that dandruff has impacted on their confidence levels, while nine out of ten sufferers admitted to feeling self-conscious because of it, with many even avoiding wearing black outfits altogether. But don’t despair — if you’re not ready to bin the black just yet.

The research carried out to mark the launch of the brand’s national campaign to turn Ire- land Flake Free, shows that we are ready to shake off dandruff for good. A third of those surveyed claimed that maintaining a clean, healthy scalp was their biggest haircare concern, and to help you judge when you’ve achieved that Head & Shoulders proof of performance test strips will be available free of charge in Dunnes Stores nationwide from the end of February. ÷ HEAD & Shoulders Classic Clean retails at €3.99 for 250ml and €7.29 for 500ml and is available in supermarkets and pharmacies nationwide.
