THE PRO12 BOOTROOM

GLASGOW v MUNSTER

- COMPILED BY LIAM HEAGNEY

TEAM NEWS: Five changes for Munster after their home loss to Ospreys, young David Johnston (right) and Tomás O’Leary coming into the backs with Irish pair Donnacha Ryan and Tommy O’Donnell bolstering the pack along with apprentice hooker Niall Scannell. Struggling champions Glasgow change nine after losing at Ulster, bringing in Test contingent Sean Lamont, Duncan Weir, Gordon Reid, Tim Swinson and promoting winger Taqele Naiyaravoro and No8 Josh Strauss off the bench.

LAST THREE MEETINGS OCT 2015 – Munster 23 Glasgow 21. MAY 2015 – Glasgow 31 Munster 13 (final). FEB 2015 – Munster 22 Glasgow 10.

VERDICT: Glasgow.

WHY: We’ve heard all about Ireland handling a six-day turnaround, now we’ll see how Munster cope with a five-day turnaround. Sunday’s home loss to Ospreys muddied the top-six waters and another defeat will confuse the picture even more. Confirmation that Anthony Foley will take up a third year in charge has been slow in arriving, and their weak-looking selection is there for the taking.

KEY STAT Glasgow have won their last nine at home against Irish sides, dating back to a Munster win at Scotstoun in October 2013.
