DRINK YOURSELF CLEVER
YOUR brain is 75% water. When you become dehydrated, your brain shrinks.
Based on urine samples from U.S. nine to 11-year-olds, nearly two-thirds of children may arrive at school in a state of mild dehydration, which may affect performance. If you randomly assign children to drink 250ml or no water before taking a test, guess which group does better? The group given the water.
Restriction of fluid intake has been shown to increase fatigue and confusion, and lower levels of alertness.
But as soon as the subjects drink again, the deleterious effects are reversed almost immediately.
