NOTHING has more power to ruin our day — or, in the long run, our health — than a poor night’s sleep. But with so many thoughts occupying our minds, it can be hard to sleep well.

While lying in bed, ‘unplug’ from the busy nature of thinking by focusing on your body.

Take at least five minutes to slowly move your attention from the top of your head to your toes, being aware of whatever sensations you may feel and pausing in areas that feel particular­ly restful, such as the stomach.
