Castrogiovanni ruled out of Dublin fixture
ITALY prop Martin Castrogiovanni will miss the clash with Ireland on March 12 after he was banned for two weeks for stamping on Scotland’s Duncan Taylor in Rome. The 34-year-old prop came on as a secondhalf replacement at the Stadio Olimpico last Saturday and later appeared to direct a stamp towards Taylor’s foot. Castrogiovanni admitted to the offence at a disciplinary hearing in London yesterday. Meanwhile, Edinburgh Rugby have clinched the signing of promising Ulster wing Rory Scholes on a two-year deal. The 22-year-old is highly-rated by his Ravenhill employers but has been persuaded to cross the Irish Sea and join Alan Solomons’ Gunners in the summer. Scholes — who has made 22 appearances for Ulster since joining from Belfast Harlequins in 2013 — said: ‘The move to Edinburgh is a good challenge for me.’
