Pierce and his mother take it easy in Madrid

-

HE always plays the most debonair of gentlemen in his films. And now Pierce Brosnan proved he is just as charming off screen as he is on it, as he enjoyed a relaxed day out with his mother Mary in Madrid on Wednesday. Strolling through the Spanish capital, the former James Bond star escorted his 81-year-old mother through the bustling square. He was there to film an advertisement.

The actor looked smart in a tailored black suit, a crisp white shirt and patent leather brogues.

Meanwhile, Mary looked stylish in a red coat that she teamed with a floral scarf and blue trousers. It seemed appropriate for them to be spending time together in the runup to Mother’s Day this weekend.

Brosnan has been kept busy in recent months filming his latest movie, The Foreigner.

Based on Stephen Leather’s 1992 novel The Chinaman, Brosnan takes on the role of an ex-IRA member-turnedgovernment official. The movie also stars Jackie Chan and follows a restaurant owner from London’s Chinatown who is trying to track down the IRA men responsible for the death of his daughter.

Production for the movie began in January. However, the crew soon found themselves heavily criticised after setting up a stunt that proved so realistic it led to police being called to the scene.

Last month, filmmakers blew up a double-decker bus on London’s Lambeth Bridge. Members of the public near the bridge were terrified, fearing it was a terrorist attack.
